Recruitment of Volunteer Bigs and Littles - BBBS recruits and guides volunteers, children, and guardians through our comprehensive intake process to ensure that this is the right program for everyone involved.
All potential Bigs are screened prior to being trained. This includes FBI fingerprinting, DMV, sex offender, and reference checks and is a critical first step to ensure child safety.
Our professionally trained Case Managers conduct extensive interviews with prospective Bigs. Every volunteer is professionally trained before being matched with a child from our waiting list. This is where they learn our ground rules and get great ideas on how to be the best mentor they can be.
A professional Case Manager is in contact with the volunteer, child, and guardian once every month to ensure the relationship is progressing and the child is safe and happy.
