The Martin House Tour will introduce visitors to Frank Lloyd Wright’s innovative design concepts that defined his Prairie-style ideal. A certified docent will lead guests through the primary first-floor rooms of the main Martin House, the pergola, conservatory, and the carriage house. Experience the harmony of Wright’s nature-inspired architecture, the connections made between interior and exterior spaces, and the pioneering methods of construction used in this outstanding residential complex. Explore the home’s beauty, described as a “domestic symphony,” which includes prime examples of Wright-designed furniture, art glass, and light fixtures. Your tour will conclude at the Martin House Museum Store, where you will find an exceptional selection of gifts for you and your home.
This tour is one-hour and is wheelchair accessible.* There is stair-climbing, considerable walking, and standing involved on this tour. Part of the tour is outside. From time to time a specific tour space in the Martin House may be unavailable due to ongoing restoration. An alternate space will be made available.
